    Description

    Offered for sale is a beautiful and unique plate that I purchased back in the 1980's.  This is Depression Glass and the pattern is "Parrot", which was officially named "Sylvan".  First of all, this pattern was only made from 1931-1932, an extremely limited run.  It was made in 2 colors, green and amber.  Although the green seems to be more gathered up by collectors, the amber is actually much more rare and difficult to locate.  I defy you to find an amber butter dish in Parrot, for example.  I rarely bought amber items back in the day but this pattern was an exception.  These are the only plates in amber that I have owned in Parrot for many years.  I just located them in a box that I had packed away decades ago.  This plate is called a grill plate as it is divided into 3 sections.  It is heavy and is the same size as a dinner plate.  The pattern features palm trees in the two smaller plate sections and parrots sitting on a branch on the larger plate portion.  The pattern of palm trees is also featured on the four edges of the plates.  This plate is in AMAZING CONDITION considering its age and rarity.  There are NO chips, NO cracks, and NO damage to be found.  There may be one or two minor scratches but nothing to speak of.  You will be quite pleased with this plate.  Please see the photos, check my feedback, and ask any questions before making a purchase.
