The History of Tanner Tees
In the early 1990s Joe Tanner developed a hand rolled, flexible rubber tee top and an adjustable metal stem. He was coaching a professional organization by day and built tees in his garage at night. Over time, Joe's batting tee evolved into a small business which became Tanner Tees. Today, the company is still family owned and operated. Each tee is assembled in the USA, and we hand-roll every Flextop to a perfect tight cone!

Every Tanner Tee Flextop is hand-rolled in the USA. Our Flextop sets Tanner Tees apart from any other training tool. Joe Tanner invented the rolled rubber top in his garage 30 years ago. The rubber we shape each Flextop from combines with a specific assembly process that provides a longer lasting top than other tees. Flexible yet strong rubber allows the bat to pass through the contact point with the least interference (and without harming your bat) providing instant feedback with every hit. With the baseball or softball resting high on the Flextop, hitters will focus on contacting the correct part of the ball to produce line drives, while never feeling the tee. The Tanner Tee Youth/Short batting tee, adjustable 20-32 inches, is a smaller replica of the adult size Tanner Tee. It is comprised of two parts, an adjustable stem ranging from 20 - 32 inches and a weather resistant polymer base.
The Tanner Tee Youth/Short is ideal for Softball and Baseball players looking for training against tough low pitches and as a starter tee for Youth who are not tall enough for the Tanner Tee Adult/Standard size model yet.
The hand rolled rubber Flextop sets Tanner tees apart from other batting tees as it provides a realistic hitting experience with reliable ball exit path feedback. Our Tanner Flextop allows the bat to pass through the contact point with the least interference, causing no damage to a bat on a bad swing and offers appropriate feedback to hitters of any skill level. Total weight is six pounds. It breaks down in seconds to fit into any travel bag and is sold with a 9x9 inch standard base with rounded edges for safety.
